I think we take technology for granted a little these days. I remember seeing the new Tron movie and afterwards I saw some people online talking about how one characters face was completely CG and they thought it looked so fake. I hadn’t heard about this before seeing the movie so I didn’t even realize that guys face was fake till halfway through the movie.

I get it, after seeing CG stuff since like 2000 everyone has a pretty good eye for it. But come on man. That looks amazing, we need to tone down the jadedness a bit. I mean if you showed people from the 70’s the dragon from the Harry Potter movie, they’d think that dragons existed. I’m just saying that when people say “Those graphics look like shit”, take a step back from the 21st century for a second and really look at it cause you might change your mind.
You know what still amazes me? I remember back in 2000 when Pokemon Stadium came out. My friend got the transfer pack to plug into the controller and it allowed us to trade our pokemon from our Red/Blue cartridges into stadium and vice versa. As an 8 year old this BLEW MY MIND. Seeing my pokemon in 3d on my television was beyond my comprehension. It was just unbelievably awesome.

Fact is, you’re living in the year 2011. It’s awesome and the things we’re able to do are awesome. Stop being so damn critical and enjoy it. When I feel jaded about today’s technology I think about Pokemon Stadium and it puts things into perspective for me. Then I go videochat on my iphone while watching 3d television and expressing my thoughts on an internet forum for the entire world to have immediate access to.
